Summary: Great Album, not so great mixing
Comment: I've always loved this album, ever since the sound hit my ear drums, but what I've always hated, was the mixing. I know they could have done better, and in my opinion this should DEFINITELY get remastered. I'm no audiophile, but you don't need to be one to hear those bad mixes.

Summary: The best
Comment: no Top 10 best death metal albums lists could ever be taken seriously if Human wasn't on it. Keep that in mind; if you ever see anyone listing the Best death metal albums and this isn't on it, that is how you know that they are a liar, a fraud, and possibly a government operative. In fact, if I were the one making the list, this would be number 1

To the normal it seems grotesque
Connected by a bond of flesh
Two minds, two hearts, one soul
Separating mentally
An illusion of privacy
Together - they absorb each other's lives
As One - they will live and they will die
A living hell has begun

Summary: AMAZING!!!!
Comment: This album changed how I listen to music. It has to rank as one of the all time great metal records! Chuck was a god amongst men. May he rest in peace.

Summary: Death metal at its best.
Comment: Once your ears are able to pervade the vacuum-like production, you'll realize how awesome this album is. It's a jaw-dropping mix of technicality, brutality, and social commentary. The social commentary isn't particularly deep, but it still fits the music well, as does Chuck Schuldiner's raspy voice. My only real complaints regarding Human are that Steve DiGiorgio's bass is practically inaudible (what is it with extreme metal and inaudible bass guitars?), and that Paul Masvidal should have been given more lead guitar opportunities. He has a very distinctive style, while Chuck Schuldiner tends to play rather similar-sounding solos, but that's a minor complaint.

I'm relatively new to death metal, and Human is a great starting point. After all, the death metal genre was arguably named after the band Death, and Human is often considered Death's best album. It's not very accessible, but I don't think any real death metal is, nor should it be.
